Bespoke Goldsmith and Designer of Fine Jewellery
Roger turns dreams into reality for private clients of all ages and from all walks of life.
About Roger Elliott
Roger focuses solely on the provision of a ‘Personal Jeweller’ service to private clients. He designs and handcrafts for the discerning individual, rather than making jewellery for retail outlets. In this way any compromises in quality due to conventional volume production is avoided and, at the same time, fine quality gem-set pieces are made at sensible, pre-retail prices.
He carefully explores and considers each client’s expectations. Trained in diamond grading, he then personally selects reliably sourced diamonds or coloured precious gems, always of high quality, for that client. Any design can be produced to a client’s requirements, but Roger’s personal design preference is for the more contemporary, adventurous settings.
Roger is a Member of the London Diamond Bourse, a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths and a holder of the Diamond Grading Certificate of the Gemmological Association. Working only in 18ct or 22ct Gold and in Platinum, to ‘Bond Street’ standards, aimed at the upper end of the contemporary market he uses only high-grade diamonds (G VS to D Flawless and also ‘fancy’ colours) and the finest sapphires, rubies, emeralds, tanzanite, black opal, aquamarine and other more unusual precious stones.
The keynote of his contemporary style is an elegant simplicity of line focusing mainly on innovative settings for diamonds and other precious stones showing the stones to their optimum advantage.
Often mounting stones in ‘tension’ or similar settings, he aims to expose the maximum stone surface to the light – thus gaining the greatest benefit from the very fine quality gems used.
Roger’s Mews Studio, with its gallery and workshop, is a converted coach house in a delightful courtyard setting with its own ample car park. This provides an excellent working environment which he believes is essential for fine design and craftsmanship to be achieved. This same studio also provides a relaxed, informal and comfortable environment for clients to view samples of jewellery, discuss gemstone topics, jewellery design or making methods – with no obligation to buy.
Alternatively, where it is more convenient, Roger can meet clients at the London, Hatton Garden address by appointment.
